Privacy Policy
Short version: Rutine doesn't collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
Last updated 23 July 2026 · Applies to the Rutine iPhone app and rutine.app
What we collect: nothing. Rutine has no user accounts, no sign-in, no tracking, no advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share personal data.
Your routine data
Everything you create in Rutine — routines, steps, durations, icons, colors, reminder times and momentum history — is stored locally on your device.
- If iCloud is enabled on your device, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database. Only your devices, signed in to your Apple Account, can read it. We have no access to that data and no ability to retrieve it.
- Rutine shares a small amount of this data with its own home-screen widget and Live Activity, on your device only.
- We operate no servers that receive your routine content.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS. Rutine only asks for notification permission if you turn reminders on, and no reminder content leaves your device. Quiet hours are applied on-device.
Purchases
Rutine Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment, billing and renewal are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details. Rutine only reads the App Store entitlement that tells the app whether Pro is active. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics
If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous crash and usage statistics. This is controlled by you in iOS, contains no personal data, and is not tied to your identity.
Children
Rutine is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, but it is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children.
Your rights and your data
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on our side. To remove your data:
- Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device.
- To remove synced copies, turn off iCloud for Rutine in iOS Settings and delete the app on every device signed in to your Apple Account.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK and want written confirmation of the above under the GDPR, email us and we'll reply.
