Why does the app estimate a short shelf life for some items?
Shelf Life uses conservative, food-safety-first estimates based on common guidance (like USDA FoodKeeper). When in doubt, we always choose the shorter estimate. Always trust the printed date and your own senses over the app's estimate.
Does receipt scanning work with any receipt?
Receipt scanning reads printed text on your device using Apple's Vision framework. It works best with clear, well-lit photos of standard grocery receipts. You can always correct any item before it's added to your inventory.
How do I cancel my Shelf Life Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone to manage or cancel.
Is my data backed up?
Yes — your inventory syncs through your own private iCloud account, the same way as e.g. Notes or Reminders.
